Chinese software firm Yonyou picks former senior SAP executive as new president

Yonyou Network Technology has appointed Huang Chenhong as its new president, following the departure of Wang Wenjing. This move comes as China's tech sector increasingly attracts talent from multinational firms reducing their presence in the country.

Based in Beijing, Yonyou, a leading provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and cloud services in China, believes Huang's leadership will enable the company to seize opportunities in digital transformation and the global expansion of Chinese enterprises. Huang, who previously held significant roles at SAP and Dell, left SAP last October amid a restructuring that merged its Greater China business with its Asia-Pacific operations.

This trend of domestic companies hiring experienced executives from multinational firms is becoming more common in China's technology industry. For instance, Hua Hong Semiconductor recently appointed ex-Intel vice-president Bai Peng as its new president, while Beijing Electronic Digital and Intelligence brought in former IBM CTO Xie Dong for a similar role.
