SpaceX repeats stunning ‘chopsticks’ catch, but Starship spacecraft destroyed
SpaceX's latest test flight of its Starship rocket ended in failure as the spacecraft was destroyed after losing contact during ascent. The company successfully caught the booster back at the launch pad using giant mechanical arms, marking a significant achievement in their recovery efforts.
The Starship was intended to complete a near-global loop over the Gulf of Mexico, carrying 10 dummy satellites for practice in deployment. This flight represented the first test of the upgraded spacecraft, which had previously undergone several iterations. Despite the loss of the spacecraft, the successful recovery of the booster demonstrates SpaceX's ongoing advancements in reusable rocket technology.
