Gamers get under Elon Musk’s skin in feud over Tesla chief’s playing skills
Elon Musk's reputation as a top-tier gamer took a significant hit after a disastrous live stream performance. During a session playing "Path of Exile 2," Musk, who claimed to have one of the highest-ranked characters, faced intense scrutiny from the gaming community. Viewers quickly pointed out his rookie mistakes and lack of familiarity with basic game mechanics, raising doubts about his gaming skills.
This backlash was fueled by the perception that Musk, despite his wealth and status, may have been faking his gaming prowess. Many comments likened his performance to that of a student unprepared for a presentation, suggesting that he might have hired assistance to maintain his elite gamer image. The incident not only embarrassed Musk but also sparked a broader conversation about authenticity in the gaming world and the pressures faced by public figures to uphold certain personas.
