Huawei smartphone spin-off Honor reshuffles management in wake of CEO’s abrupt departure

Honor, Huawei's spin-off smartphone brand, is undergoing significant management changes following the resignation of its CEO, George Zhao Ming, as it gears up for a public listing in a highly competitive market. The company's recent adjustments include the appointment of Li Jian as the new CEO and the resignation of Jiang Hairong, the chief marketing officer for China.

These management shifts come as Honor prepares for an initial public offering (IPO) announced in November 2023, which necessitates an organizational overhaul. In the interim, Guo Rui, Honor’s global CMO, will oversee the China region, while Zheng Shubao, the sales chief, will be succeeded by Chen Haoqian from eastern Jiangsu. A company representative described these changes as a "routine adjustment of regional managers," highlighting the internal complexities as Honor seeks to solidify its position in the smartphone industry.
