Gisele Pelicot’s ex-husband caught up in 1990s murder and rape cases

Dominique Pelicot, a convicted rapist serving a 20-year sentence, is now being questioned about additional suspected cases of rape and murder from the 1990s. Pelicot was previously found guilty of drugging his then-wife, allowing other men to assault her, a crime that shocked France. His renewed interrogation comes as he faces scrutiny from a magistrate specializing in unsolved cases.

The investigations focus on two notable incidents linked to Pelicot. The first is the 1991 murder of property agent Sophie Narme in Paris, which Pelicot denies any involvement in. The second case involves an attempted armed rape of another property agent in 1999, where Pelicot admits to meeting the victim but disputes the charge of attempted rape. Since October 2022, Pelicot has been formally investigated for these crimes, indicating that authorities have gathered significant evidence against him.
