Hong Kong stage contractor linked to Mirror accident faces liquidation risk

Hip Hing Loong Stage Engineering Company, one of the contractors implicated in the 2022 Mirror concert accident that injured three dancers, is facing potential liquidation. A mainland-based creditor filed a case with Hong Kong's High Court on Friday, with a hearing scheduled for April 23.

The incident occurred during the fourth of twelve planned concerts when a large video screen fell onto the stage, severely injuring dancer Mo Li Kai-yin, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down. Another dancer, Zisac Law Tak-chi, was injured during a rehearsal days prior due to a malfunctioning elevating platform. The accident prompted investigations and raised concerns about stage safety standards.
