DBS, HSBC have best-performing mobile banking apps in Asia, according to a new report
Hong Kong and Singapore boast the best-performing mobile banking apps in Asia, according to a global study by Sia. However, the report indicates that these apps still lag behind some Western counterparts in seamlessly integrating services from external partners.
The study, which assessed 140 apps across 22 markets using 95 criteria, ranked DBS Bank's Singapore app as the best in Asia (11th globally), followed by HSBC's Hong Kong app and mainland China's Ping An Pocket Bank (tied at 16th globally). While traditional banks like DBS and HSBC excel in functionality due to their extensive banking experience, digital lenders such as Hong Kong’s Mox Bank and Trust Bank Singapore, though strong in user experience, still need to catch up on functionality.
