EU leaders to head to Kyiv, Macron to visit Trump in bid to shore up support for Ukraine

Top European leaders are scheduled to meet in Brussels, Kyiv, Paris, London, and Washington next week to reaffirm their support for Ukraine and discuss European security policy amidst the ongoing conflict. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Antonio Costa, and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will visit Kyiv on Monday to mark the anniversary. Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron will be in Washington to meet with Donald Trump to discuss Ukraine, while British Prime Minister Keir Starmer also plans to meet with Trump, possibly to present a concept for a peacekeeping force. These meetings follow Macron's recent crisis talks with European leaders and a phone call with Trump, focusing on the potential for European peacekeeping forces to secure a ceasefire in Ukraine, with discussions suggesting a force of fewer than 30,000 troops.
