Kerry’s Hava flats sell out as a stock rally lifts the mood in Hong Kong’s property market

Hong Kong's property market showed signs of renewed vigor as all 250 flats in Kerry Properties' Hava project in Yuen Long were sold out during a weekend launch. The strong sales performance, driven by attractive pricing and a concurrent stock market rally, signals a potential shift in sentiment within the city's previously sluggish property sector.

The Hava project's success can be attributed to several factors, including its convenient location in Yuen Long, appealing to both owner-occupiers and investors. The small apartments, priced between HK$2.6 million and HK$5 million, proved particularly attractive to younger, first-time buyers. Furthermore, investors were drawn to the project's projected rental yield of approximately 5 per cent per annum, with around 30 per cent of buyers intending to lease out their properties.
