China said to be planning military parade for WWII anniversary, with Putin to attend

China is planning a military parade later this year to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, and Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to attend. The parade will mark the September 3 anniversary, and Putin's visit could extend for several days as he is also slated to participate in the annual Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, which China will host around the same time.

President Xi Jinping mentioned "commemorating the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese people’s war of resistance against Japanese aggression and the world’s anti-fascist war" during a recent phone call with Putin, signaling the importance of the event to both nations. Putin is also expected to visit other Chinese cities during his trip, further solidifying the ties between China and Russia.
