Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is attending a thanksgiving event in Hong Kong aimed at overseas Filipino workers. Hundreds of people queued up early in the morning to see the former president, and his daughter, the current Vice-President of the Philippines Sara Duterte, was also seen at the venue.
Duterte's appearance in Hong Kong comes as the International Criminal Court (ICC) investigates his controversial anti-drug campaign. The event is scheduled to run for most of the day, with promotional materials heavily featuring Duterte. Those without tickets were initially directed to a nearby football pitch, but were later asked to leave by police.
