Warm week in Hong Kong expected before temperature dips again over weekend

Hong Kong is expected to experience a significant temperature drop over the weekend, with temperatures plunging to as low as 15 degrees Celsius (59 Fahrenheit) on Sunday. This follows a warm week with temperatures ranging from 18 to 26 degrees Celsius from Monday to Friday.

The warm weather is due to a moderating easterly airstream being replaced by a maritime airstream, leading to humid and foggy conditions in the middle and latter parts of the week. However, a cold front is expected to move across southern China on Saturday, bringing showers and ushering in a dry northeast monsoon, causing the temperature to drop sharply. The Observatory forecasts a further drop to 14 degrees on Monday before temperatures gradually rise again next week with sunny periods.
