This visit follows a strained encounter in Washington D.C. where Zelensky's previous visit reportedly led to disagreements with US President Donald Trump and Vice-President J.D. Vance. While Zelensky will not personally attend the meeting with Rubio in Jeddah, his team will be working to address concerns and reaffirm the importance of U.S. support for Ukraine.
