TSMC has pitched Nvidia, AMD, Broadcom about joint venture to run Intel foundry: sources

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has proposed a joint venture to US chip designers like Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom to operate Intel's factories. TSMC would manage Intel's foundry division, which produces chips tailored to customer needs, but would maintain less than 50% ownership.

This proposal follows a request from the Trump administration for TSMC to help revitalize Intel, a struggling US industrial icon. The plan aims to avoid full foreign ownership of Intel or its foundry division, requiring approval from the US government. Qualcomm has also reportedly been approached by TSMC regarding this potential partnership.
