Woman killed in Tokyo while live streaming stabbed more than 30 times over money dispute
Airi Sato, a 22-year-old woman, was fatally stabbed more than 30 times in Shinjuku, Tokyo, while live streaming, indicating a possible deep-seated grudge from her alleged assailant. The suspect, 42-year-old Kenichi Takano, has been arrested and is being investigated for the murder.
Takano admitted to police that he had lent Sato millions of yen, using his savings and taking out loans, and that the two were involved in a financial dispute. He tracked her down by watching her stream and confessed to being unable to accept her "making money from streaming while owing me money." He had purchased the knife used in the attack several months prior and brought it with him from his home in Tochigi prefecture.
