South China Morning Post wins 12 prizes at Hong Kong News Awards

The South China Morning Post (SCMP) has won 12 awards at the Hong Kong News Awards 2024, including the top prize for Best Scoop. The Newspaper Society of Hong Kong announced the results, recognizing the SCMP's reporters across 11 categories for their outstanding journalistic work.

Senior reporter Edith Lin and news editor Jeffie Lam secured the Best Scoop award for exposing unauthorized structures in luxury properties. Other winning stories included reporting on a Dubai prince's shelved plans to open a family office in Hong Kong, a series on key figures in the city's scientific field, and excellence in news and business writing. Editor-in-chief Tammy Tam praised the winners and reaffirmed the SCMP's commitment to journalistic excellence amidst industry challenges.
