Economist Robin Xing on the revival of China’s animal spirits and surviving Trump 2.0
Investor sentiment towards China has improved significantly in recent weeks, driven by policy shifts and renewed efforts to stimulate the economy. Morgan Stanley's chief China economist, Robin Xing, notes a shift since September, with progress accelerating on restructuring debt, rebalancing towards consumption, and implementing reforms to boost confidence.

However, recent measures like local government debt swaps, housing relief, modest consumption stimulus, and dialogues between leaders and the private sector have contributed to a more positive outlook. Xing estimates the progress on reflation has increased from 20% before September to roughly 50% currently.
