香港资深外汇交易员Wilson Chan Fung-cheung回忆，四十多年前加入银行业时，交易涉及美元、英镑、日元等货币，但完全没有人民币交易。当时人民币尚未国际化，直到2009年北京才开始推动其在国际贸易中的使用。

Chan曾在多家中国银行工作。他指出，人民币国际化从那时启动，此前国际市场根本没有人民币交易。
